Hailing from the capital of Algeria, Algiers. Houssem’s gift of creativity and curiosity flourished from an early age. As his age-mates spent time playing with their toys, Houssem always tried to understand “How does it work?” he would always dissemble his toys to understand why it does what it does. But that is not the only thing that he did, he also spent countless hours crafting and drawing. Without knowing he was combining design and engineering. Following this natural inclination, he went on to pursue his Architectural degree at Ecole Polytechnique d’Architecture et d’Urbanism (EPAU) in Algiers, then he moved to the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning in Blida where he got his Master’s degree. After graduation Houssem worked for private and state-owned companies, his problem-solving ability and creativity allowed him to be responsible for the supervision of larger projects with sizable budgets such as General Profile‘s Plastic Extrusion Factory in Chlef and 20 Storage Units of Algerie Telecom in Birtouta. Houssem also worked as a freelance Architect, providing his services to a wide range of clients including Private Individuals, Corporate Clients, Architects, Developers, Interior Designers, investors, Businesses, and building construction professionals. His plans were accepted by building departments worldwide including and not limited to the United States of America, South Korea, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, India… His Unique understanding that Architecture is not isolated, it is a combination of historical precedents, functional necessities, and awareness of socio-environmental concerns led him to design more than 300 successful projects. Houssem is not just an Architect, he is also a Blogger, Webmaster, Photographer, Graphic Designer, and Entrepreneur.
